Projection: need to automatically qualify
Coppin State's resume is dominated by a brutal nonconference stretch of neutral and true road blowouts to power-conference foes like Maryland, South Florida, VCU and West Virginia that have washed away much of the upside from the season. The lone road victory at Rider is a useful marker but it sits next to too many lopsided defeats away from home, so upcoming trips to Liberty, Georgetown and Navy are the kind of make-or-break chances that could meaningfully alter perception only if they produce surprise outcomes. The more probable route to repairing the résumé runs through a block of home dates against conference rivals such as Morgan State, Delaware State, Howard, Norfolk State and North Carolina Central and then through the league tournament, because until Coppin State demonstrates road or neutral-site success the early nonconference damage will be the lens through which its season is viewed.
